01How Much Does Lopud Cost?

Lopud is cheaper than Dubrovnik Old Town but more expensive than mainland villages. The ferry is cheap, the beach and restaurant prices are the main spending. Most visitors fall into three budgets:

Budget day trip
about €30–40 per person. Return ferry, a picnic or a bakery lunch, and a free spot on the pebble beaches by the harbour.
Standard day trip
about €45–75 per person. Return ferry, buggy to Šunj, a sunbed, one beach-bar or konoba meal and drinks.
Overnight stay
about €100–180 per person per day in summer, including a room, dinner and drinks.

All prices here are in euros and based on 2026 tariffs. Expect small changes in 2027, and always check the current Jadrolinija price list.

02Ferry Prices to Lopud

Jadrolinija line 807 is the standard passenger ferry from Dubrovnik (Gruž harbour) to Lopud. The crossing takes about 55 minutes, usually with a stop at Koločep.

Adult, Dubrovnik–Lopud
Off-season€3.40
Season€5.40
Child 3–12
Off-season€1.90
Season€1.90
Lopud–Koločep or Lopud–Šipan (Suđurađ)
Off-season€2.50
Season€4.10

In 2026 the higher fare period ran from 29 May to 27 September. The year-round car ferry, line 831, charges €3.20 off-season and €5.10 in season for adults. Return trips therefore cost €6.80 to €10.80 per adult.

The 2026 timetable had departures from Dubrovnik at about 10:00, 14:00, 16:30 and 20:00. Departures from Lopud were at about 06:20, 12:15, 15:00 and 18:10. Summer timetables are different, so check them before you plan a return. Missing the last boat means paying for a room or a private water taxi.

Tour boats from Dubrovnik that cover the three Elaphiti islands cost far more than the public ferry. They bundle lunch and a short stop on each island. For Lopud alone, the public ferry is the better choice. The lunch on those boats is usually mediocre, and the 1.5-hour stop at Šunj is not enough to enjoy the beach.

03Getting Around: Buggies, Walking and Bikes

Lopud has no regular cars. The village and harbour are small, and the walk from the harbour to Šunj Beach takes about 15–20 minutes along a paved path.

Golf buggy shuttle to Šunj
€3 per person each way, with stations at the harbour and at the beach.
Private electric cart taxi
a flat fee of roughly €8–10 for a short ride in high season, shared by a group.
Bike rental
available at several shops in the village and at some hotels. Expect around €10–15 for a few hours, and confirm the price before you take one.

The buggy is worth paying for only with small children, heavy bags or mobility issues. The walk is mostly flat and shaded. A couple saves about €6 return by walking one way.

04Beach Costs at Šunj and Around the Harbour

Šunj is the sandy beach on the south side of the island. Several beach bars, including Cima Beach Bar and Restaurant, run the loungers there.

Sunbed
€10–15 each in summer, with an umbrella sometimes charged on top (about €5).
Two beds and an umbrella for a day
about €30–45 in peak season.
Soft drink
around €4–6. A coke on some boat-trip stops reaches €6.
Cocktail
about €12–16.
Open-air shower
about €1.
Public toilet and changing area
at the entrance to the beach bar area.

The free alternative is the pebble coast and small coves near the harbour, which are clean and have no charge. Many visitors who bring a towel pay nothing for the beach itself.

Insider tip: the best-value way to use a sunbed is to order a drink and food at the same bar. Beds are often described as free with a minimum order, but the minimum can be higher than the bed fee. Ask for the rule before you sit.

Sunbeds on the sand are crowded between 11:00 and 15:00 when tour boats arrive. Arriving before 10:30 or after 15:30 gives more space and a calmer atmosphere. The last boat back to Dubrovnik leaves in the early evening, so plan your return before ordering a late lunch.

05Food and Drink Prices on Lopud

Most restaurants sit on the harbour promenade. Food prices are higher than at inland villages and a little lower than Dubrovnik Old Town.

Named places include Restaurant Dubrovnik (4.3 on Tripadvisor), Mandrac (4.1), Konoba Riva (4.1) and La Villa (4.5), and Obala. Most are priced €€–€€€. The ratings suggest decent quality but not a bargain.

A two-course dinner with a drink at a harbour restaurant generally costs €30–45 per person. Pizza places such as Konoba Riva are the cheapest sit-down option.

Budget tip: a small shop and a bakery in the village sell sandwiches, fruit and water. A picnic for two costs about €10–15 and cuts a day-trip budget sharply. Tap water is safe to drink. Bring a refillable bottle.

Order fresh fish by the kilogram only after asking the price. Weight-priced fish is the most common source of surprise bills on the Dalmatian coast. A whole fish for two can reach €50–80.

06Accommodation Costs

Lopud has a few hotels, private apartments and rooms, and no budget hostels. Average hotel rates in booking data run about €60–65 per night, rising in July and August.

Mid-range hotel
Hotel Glavović sits around €55–65 in shoulder season and more in peak summer.
Resort
RMH Lopud Lafodia Resort and Wellness is the largest hotel and costs considerably more, particularly in peak season.
Apartments and private rooms
often €60–110 for two people in high season, with a kitchenette that reduces food costs.

Book early for July and August. The island has limited beds, and the best-value apartments go first. Shoulder months of May, June and September have lower rates and warm sea temperatures.

There is a tourist tax per person per night, usually under €2. Hotels and apartments include it separately.

08Money Tips

Payment
cards are accepted in most restaurants and hotels, but small beach bars and shuttle drivers can prefer cash. Carry €30–50 in small notes. The island has no reliable bank branch, and cash should come from Dubrovnik.
Timing
off-season ferry fares apply until late May and after late September. The beach and restaurants are also calmer and cheaper then.
Ferry tickets
buy at the Gruž harbour ticket office or at the pier. Foot-passenger tickets are inexpensive and usually available on the day, but in July and August arrive 30–40 minutes early.
Skip the beach-bar combos
they often add a minimum spend. The better value is lunch in the village and swimming from the free pebble coast.

09Is Lopud Expensive?

By Croatian island standards, Lopud is mid-priced. Transport is the cheapest part of the trip. Beach beds and beach-bar food make up the largest share. Anyone who brings snacks, walks, and swims at the harbour coves can spend under €40 for the day. The sandy beach is popular for good reason, but its bar prices are the weakest value on the island.
