Top Unmarked Locations
- Žukova Bay
- A pine-fringed cove 6 km from the Stari Grad center on the Kabal Peninsula. Reaching it requires a 15-minute walk down a dirt path from the parking area. Expect clear water and zero facilities. Bring your own water and shade.
- Glavica Hill
- A 20-minute steep hike starting behind the main bus station. The summit features a large white cross and offers unobstructed views over the rooftops and the Stari Grad Plain.
- Stari Grad Plain 'Trims'
- Walk the ancient agricultural grid to find dry-stone domed shelters built by ancient farmers. The dirt trail starting from the Vrboska road intersection provides the highest concentration of these intact structures.
- Church of St. Jerome
- A small 14th-century chapel located at the far northwestern end of the old town. The interior is often locked, but the exterior stone carvings and adjacent quiet courtyard offer a complete escape from summer crowds.
- Dol Village Konobas
- Located 2.5 km inland. Skip the harbor tourist traps. Konoba Kokot serves traditional wild boar and goat peka. Meals cost roughly €25-€35 per person, and advance booking of 24 hours is mandatory for peka.
The best food in the region is found inland, not looking at boats in the harbor.
