- Croatian drivers are aggressive. Watch for scooters. Pedestrian crossings offer little guarantee of safety. Look both ways, constantly.

- Respect beach flags. Strong currents can occur. Do not swim alone after dark, especially if consuming alcohol.

- Lock all doors and windows. Use hotel safes for valuables. Do not leave items visible in parked cars.
