Authentic Krka Cuisine: Beyond the Park Gates

Krka National Park doesn't have its own distinct cuisine. It leverages the rich gastronomic heritage of the Šibenik-Knin County. True taste lies outside the immediate park perimeter. Don't believe the hype of 'park food'—seek out village konobas for authenticity.

Peka
Non-negotiable. Lamb or veal 'under the bell' slow-cooked with vegetables. Pre-order is a must.
Skradin Risotto
A must-try from nearby Skradin. Veal risotto, cooked for hours. Iconic.
Pršut & Cheese
Dalmatian smoked ham and local hard cheeses are perfect starters.
Olive Oil & Wine
Local olive oils are exceptional. Wineries, especially around Plastovo, offer robust red wines (Babić).
Freshwater Fish
While coastal, the Krka river means some places offer excellent trout or eel.
